There’s a question every business owner asks about social media training: is this actually going to work, or will it be just another expensive afternoon of theory I’ll never use?

The businesses below have almost nothing in common. A hair and makeup artist, a filmmaker, and a product photographer. Different industries, different audiences, different platforms. What they share is a single Arcanum Academy social media workshop, and what happened afterwards followed the same pattern in every case: reach didn’t creep up, it jumped.

[It’s also worth noting that these are three genuinely representative case studies. I picked them to show the breadth of industries my strategies work for, not just because they were my best three growth examples – they’re not. Most attendees see results from Day 1].

Samantha Kate Bridal: 500 to 83,000

Before the workshop, Sami’s posts at Samantha Kate Bridal were reaching around 500 to 1,500 people. Respectable for a niche hair and makeup stylist, but a long way short of the audience she needed to fill her diary.

She attended a full-day workshop. The first post she shared afterwards reached 83,000 views.

The single best-case version of her previous posts reached 1,500 people. This one reached 55 times that, on her first attempt, with no paid promotion. The skills carried straight from the workshop into a real post with a real result.

Michael: From 3,000 to 40,000, and a Tripled Following

Michael is a Lincoln-based filmmaker who’s using social media to crowdfund a new film. That’s a hard ask. Crowdfunding lives or dies on reach, and his posts were only landing in front of 1,000 to 3,000 people. It wasn’t enough to impact his funding target.

After the workshop, his posts now routinely reach 30,000 to 40,000 people, and crucially a far greater share of that audience sits inside his target demographic. Reaching more people only matters if they’re the right people, and that’s the part that changed alongside the raw numbers.

He has also more than tripled his following.

For a crowdfunding campaign, more reach, better-targeted reach, and a growing audience is the difference between a project that stalls and one that gets made.

Capture the Curious: 500 Views to 40,000, and a Client in America

Capture the Curious is Steph’s photography business. Her posts had been reaching 100 to 500 people on TikTok. She was keeping the account ticking over, but it wasn’t opening any new doors for her.

After the workshop, her growth grew gradually. 9,000 views, then 21,000 views, then 56,000! And this is the result that matters most: the posts brought her several new clients, including her first ever client in America.

Views are a vanity metric until they convert into something. A post that travels far enough to reach a paying client on another continent is the proof that the strategy is putting the right work in front of the right people.

What These Three Have in Common

Nothing, on the surface. A bridal boutique, a filmmaker, and a photographer don’t share an audience, a platform, or a goal.

What they share is what they learned. Each left the workshop understanding how the algorithm actually decides what to show and to whom, and how to build content around that rather than posting and hoping. The platforms reward content that signals relevance, and once you know what those signals are, you stop fighting the system and start using it.

That’s why the pattern repeats across such different businesses. It isn’t about the industry. It’s about the method.

Three businesses with nothing in common saw the same thing happen: reach that had been stuck in the hundreds or low thousands jumped into the tens of thousands, immediately and completely organically. For Sami, that was 83,000 views from a single post. For Michael, a tripled following and a campaign that can now actually reach its audience. For Steph, a client on the other side of the Atlantic.
